 Safety

Continental Clay Company has genuine interest in the safety of everyone working in the field of ceramics.  In our plant and warehouse safety takes precedence over all other operations.  Having confidence in the safe use of Continental Clay's products is just as important as the safety involved when manufacturing these items.

The fundamental health concern in the ceramics industry is silicosis. Silicosis is a disabling, non-reversible and sometimes fatal respiratory disease that manifests itself after long term overexposure to crystalline silica dust.

When working with clay and ceramic materials in dry or powdered form, precautions should be taken not to generate or exaggerate dusty conditions.  By using Continental Clay's ready to use prepared clay bodies you are taking the first step in avoiding unnecessary dust exposure.

All Continental Clay prepared moist clays are AP NON TOXIC and are safe to use.  Over 98% of Continental Clay glazes and all of Continental Clay underglazes are lead-free.
