Spectrum 1400 Ash Glazes
Cone 4-6
Spectrum’s cone 4/6 Electric Ash Glazes line has been designed to replicate the effects of using fruitwood to create ash as a glaze in wood-fired kilns.
Glazes may be used alone or layered with other glazes.
One thin coat is sufficient.
Care should be taken to protect your kiln shelves as this glaze is designed to “gather and run” like traditional ash glazes.
The translucent colors are oxide-based and may be used alone or layered with other glazes: creating fascinating new colors.
We find that they work exceptionally well overlapped with Spectrum’s 1100 series
